Man Vanishes While On NorCal Fishing Trip

A man never returned home from his planned fishing trip, according to authorities.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — The Alameda County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a 46-year-old man who disappeared near Mountain House, where he went to fish.

Shahanur Alam was last seen about 10 a.m. Saturday, when he told his wife he would be home around noon. His last known location was West Grant Line Road near North Midway Road.

When Alam didn't return home several hours after he was expected, a friend went to the area but couldn't locate him, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Alam was described as an Indian man, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is clean shaven and wears prescription glasses.

Anyone with information on Alam's whereabouts was asked to contact the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at (510) 667-7721 or their local law enforcement agency.
