Pearl Harbor Day Events At USS Hornet

Thursday marks the 76th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Admission is free from 10 a.m. to noon.

ALAMEDA, CA — Thursday marks the 76th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which marked the US entrance into World War II.

The USS Hornet will commemorate Pearl Harbor Day with special events and FREE admission from 10 a.m. to noon.

Speakers at the event include:
  • Lawson Sakai, Member of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, four time Purple Heart Recipient
  • Chuck Kohler, Pearl Harbor survivor, Navy veteran. Mr. Kohler will give a firsthand account of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack, "The Day that Lived in Infamy." He was with Aerial Patrol Squadron VP#23 on Ford Island in the center of Pearl Harbor.
  • Col. John Stevens, Pearl Harbor survivor, Marine veteran
