Schools Close For 3 Weeks In Alameda: Coronavirus
Free breakfast and lunch will be served at all district schools on Monday and Tuesday for all children under the age of 18 who show up.
ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Unified School District has canceled in-class instruction through April 3 in response to new coronavirus, or COVID-19. The closure may be extended depending on developments or guidance from public health officials.
Students have been given a packet of materials that my be used for continued learning during the closure. The district will have information about additional resources next week.
In a printed release, the district said that "due to the high levels of anxiety we are witnessing in our community and the sheer amount of uncertainty on whatwe can expect with this public health situation, we feel the best action is to suspend in-class instruction."

On Monday and Tuesday, all schools will provide breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m., and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. Students do not need to be enrolled in AUSD schools to receive meals, and they do not need to present ID.
