Seeking Young Bakers for the Best Cookie Contest!

Cooking Round the World seeks Children Ages 6 - 13 to Enter Cookie Contest

Oakland, CA - October 24, 2014 - Chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies with sprinkles, waffle cookies, lemon pie cookies, pumpkin cookies, caramel apple cookies... what’s the best cookie?

On Sunday, November 9, from 2:30 - 4:30 pm, at the Kehilla Community Synagogue kitchen, Cooking Round the World will be holding a cookie bake off to find the best cookie! Young bakers, ages 6 - 13, can compete with their home-baked, award winning cookie.

A panel of 3 East Bay judges (professional bakers), will taste each cookie presented. Cookies will be judged on presentation, taste and originality. Each competing young baker will make a presentation to the judges. They will explain why she/he selected that recipe and the baking techniques used. The best cookie baker will be awarded $100 and receive an award.

To enter, children should bake 3 dozen cookies at their home (36 cookies), and bring the cookies with them to the contest. Young bakers may enter as many times as they wish. The cost to enter is $15 per recipe entered into the contest.
