Albany High School Vice Principal Hired

Larry Pratt was brought in from outside of the district. The school board approved the hiring Tuesday.

ALBANY, CA — Larry Pratt has been hired as a new Vice Principal at Albany High School, superintendent Val Williams announced Tuesday evening. The school board approved the personnel move on Tuesday.

Pratt was most recently an Assistant Principal at Redwood and Drake High Schools in the Mt. Tamalpais Union High School District in Marin County. He has been a vice principal for the past five years.

Prior to becoming a vice principal, Pratt was a mathematics teacher and teacher coach as well as a student teacher supervisor and summer school principal.

His precific experience includes leading equity teams and student focus groups, and he worked with his staff on closing the student achievement gap through a professional learning community model.

Pratt received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College and his teaching credential from SFSU. He also received a Masters in Education and administrative credential from UC Berkeley.
