Runner Discovers Racist Graffiti on Albany Ohlone Greenway
The graffiti was reported to the police and has since been removed.
ALBANY, CA — An Albany resident out running along the Albany Ohlone Greenway who recently discovered race-related graffiti says she is saddened to see such "hatred and racism" in public view. The words “Trump 2016 White Power" were recently found written on the running path along with several swastikas spotted on a garbage can next to the trail and on a BART column.
“I discovered the graffiti while on a run Sunday morning,” Britt Tanner said via email. “I was appalled. Albany is a progressive city with a diverse community of people of all colors and creeds. To see such racism and hatred on public display was very upsetting. I am of mixed heritage and have experienced very little racism in my life. Unfortunately, the liberal bubble I have lived in just popped.”
The graffiti was reported to the police and has since been removed.
