Authorities ID Victim In Fatal Bridge Crash
BREAKING: The fatality occurred early Friday on I-680 just south of I-780.

BENICIA, CA -- A Concord resident who died in a collision with a big rig Friday on the Benicia-Martinez Bridge has been identified by the the Solano County coroner's office as 22-year-old Patricia Roy. At about 6:05 a.m. Friday, Roy was driving a black Honda sedan north on Interstate Highway 680 just south of the Interstate Highway 780 split in Benicia when it struck the back of a slower moving semi tractor-trailer, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Honda then veered left across all traffic lanes and struck a concrete wall, CHP officials said.
Roy died at the scene at 6:21 a.m., according to the coroner's office.

CHP officials said they were investigating the speed at which Roy was traveling and whether she was wearing a seatbelt.
The truck driver, a 49-year-old Modesto man, was not injured, according to the CHP.
