Earthquake Rattles Bay Area
BREAKING: The earthquake was reported just after 2:39 a.m. Did YOU feel it?

BERKELEY, CA— A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck the Berkeley area near the Claremont Hotel early Thursday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor was reported at 2:36 a.m. The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.7, but USGS officials have since revised the magnitude.
The large earthquake woke thousands of people in the Bay Area from their sleep and was felt in San Francisco, Oakland, Walnut Creek and as far away as Dublin, Livermore, Union City, Milpitas and on the peninsula.
Residents from all over took to social media after feeling the quake. City officials in Berkeley tweeted about it about 9 minutes after the temblor, which was about seven miles deep and located along the Hayward Fault, according to the USGS. No injuries have been reported as a result of the quake.
