Sketch Of Stabbing Suspect Released By Berkeley Police
Police say there was no robbery attempt and the victim did not know the suspect.

BERKELEY, CA —Police have released a sketch of a man suspected of stabbing someone Friday in North Berkeley, and are seeking the public's help in locating him, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man, 35 to 45 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 160 to 170 pounds, with sandy-colored hair and several days of facial hair growth. He was wearing light-colored clothing and
a black backpack.
According to police, at 7:47 p.m. the male victim was walking near his home in the 800 block of San Diego Road near John Hinkel Park, when the suspect approached and stabbed him in the abdomen.

There was no robbery attempt and the victim did not know the suspect. The unprovoked attack appeared to be random, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot in an unknown direction. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
