Trio of Suspect Robbers Arrested After Crash at UC Berkeley
The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Two men and a teenage boy suspected of a committing a strong-arm robbery late Friday night were arrested a short time later after they walked away from their vehicle that crashed on the University of California at Berkeley campus, police said Wednesday.
The female victim was walking in the area of Milvia and Haste streets, about a half-mile away from the campus, around 11:50 p.m. Friday when two males approached her, UC Berkeley police said. They robbed her with force and fled in a white pickup truck that officers saw minutes later speeding in the opposite direction on Dana Street, according to police.
The suspects’ car entered the campus at Spieker Plaza, west of Zellerbach Hall, then crashed into multiple barrier poles at the Dwinelle lot, police said. It also struck a bench at the Octagon Bridge before it came to a stop, according to police. The suspects fled from the vehicle but were spotted by a campus police security patrol officer near University Drive and were detained by Berkeley police. The victim was not injured in the robbery, police said.

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Bryan Escobedo, 19-year-old Alejandro Martinez-Vargas and a 17-year-old boy whose name was not released because he is a juvenile.
