UC Extends Application Deadline For Fire Victims
The University of California announced the extension Wednesday, along with waiving application fees.

BERKELEY, CA — Undergraduate students affected by the recent wildfires in California may qualify for an application extension and fee waiver at University of California campuses, UC officials announced today.
UC President Janet Napolitano says this is one small way the university can offer support following deadly and destructive wildfires in Northern and Southern California.
"We know this is a tremendously difficult time for prospective students and their families who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires," Napolitano said in a statement.

For those who qualify, the original deadline of Nov. 30 will now be extended to Dec. 15.
To apply applicants must create a UC account for admission to the fall 2019 class and email ucinfo@applyucsupport.net with the subject line "Extension Request-Weather/Fire Event".

The application fee waiver will apply to up to four UC campuses. The university will also make allowances for students with longer-term impacts due to the wildfires.
California State University officials announced Tuesday a similar application extension for those applying to CSU schools.
