Famers Insurance Federal Credit Union (FIGFCU) is opening a new branch on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Burbank, California, expanding its presence in the state and marking the credit union’s eighth branch overall.
The Burbank branch is located at 2255 N. Ontario St, Suite 320, Burbank, CA 91504.

A grand opening celebration, ribbon-cutting event, annual meeting, and free Financial Wellness Fair will take place at the new Burbank branch on Wednesday, April 29, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. PT and is open to the entire community.The branch will offer deposit accounts, lending services, including auto and home loans, and financial education counseling, while complementing the credit union’s 24/7 online digital banking capabilities.

FIGFCU will donate $10,000 to the American Heart Association in celebration of its Burbank Grand Opening, supporting efforts to advance heart health and lifesaving research in the community.

Award-winning Bob Gossom film closes National Poetry Month and opens Mental Health Awareness Month
Poet and playwright Bob Gossom brings back his acclaimed film Versified! The Human Equation for a limited encore streaming, blending contemporary poetry, motion, music, and storytelling to close National Poetry Month.
The film streams from 3 p.m. PT April 30 to 9 p.m. PT May 3 at bobgossom.com/film-viewing.
Adapted from Gossom’s acclaimed poetry collection The Human Equation, now in its expanded third edition, the production explores vulnerability, humor, contradiction and the shared experiences that connect people across generations and backgrounds.
First staged in Los Angeles, Versified! The Human Equation evolved from a live ensemble production, praised by reviewer Javier Ronceros for its performers who embody “dozens of characters in a dance of the human condition.”
This encore not only marks the shift from National Poetry Month to Mental Health Awareness Month, but also highlights poetry’s ongoing power for reflection and emotional wellness.
“Poetry has always been a place where people can process what they’re going through, often before they have language for it,” Gossom said. “It creates space to reflect and begin to heal.”
Writer, actor and director Levy Lee Simon praised Gossom’s distinctive voice and range.
“His vision and imagery leap from the page into the mind,” Simon said. “Bob has his own style. Versatility is his secret weapon.”
The production has received multiple honors, including Best Adaptation from the SoCal Film Awards in 2025, Best Original Idea from the Top Indie Film Awards in 2026, and Best Ensemble Cast from the Bare Bones International Film Festival in 2026. It also earned nominations for Best Writing and Best Editing.

The move to this stunning new venue means fresh opportunities to bring people together for a dynamic weekend that blends exploration, education, and philanthropy in an approachable and lively atmosphere.
Hollywood glamour meets equestrian tradition at the new home of LAWineFest. Nestled on beautiful, tree-shaded grounds bordering Griffith Park, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center (LAEC) offers expansive open space, natural shade, sweeping mountain views, and a relaxed outdoor setting ideal for wine lovers. This secluded yet centrally located destination provides a picturesque backdrop just minutes from the heart of LA.
Home to numerous dressage, polo, and competition events, and more than 500 beautiful horses, the LAEC attracts visitors who appreciate life’s finer luxuries, including fine wine and dining. Centrally located between the 5 and 134 Freeways, the venue is easily accessible from Los Feliz, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Pasadena, and surrounding communities, making it a convenient and captivating venue for LAWineFest.
LAWineFest will also host a VIP Garden in a lovely private tree covered area where guests can enjoy exclusive access to boutique wineries producing 2,000 cases or less, along with a selection of higher-end wineries showcasing new varietals. Ticket sales are limited for this special experience, and VIPs will receive a souvenir wine glass, tasty bites with the wine and additional relaxed seating, plus dedicated restrooms. And it’s all for a great cause. The LAWineFest has once again partnered with the Los Angeles Boys &amp; Girls Club to raise awareness and funds, this year becoming more important than ever to the city and its need for community. Joining as a charitable partner this year is AHEAD With Horses, a local nonprofit devoted to improving the quality of life of disabled, disadvantaged, and special-needs children through equine-assisted therapy using vaulting.
Guests can look forward to a thoughtfully curated weekend of tasting exceptional wines – plus craft brews, ciders, kombucha and other beverages – from local wineries to producers from across the world. Discovering new wines is balanced with many other activities, including live music by the Unofficial Slam Band, delicious food trucks, boutique shopping from local LA-based small businesses, and more.
LAWineFest hours are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Designated drivers, carpooling, rideshare services, and public transportation are strongly encouraged.
