Bank Robber Flees Without Cash

A fake mustache started peeling off during the heist, according to police.

 

Burlingame Police are on the lookout for an inept bank robber who got away, but he left without any money.

The robbery attempt happened Wednesday at the Bank of America branch at 400 El Camino Real. At 1:20 p.m. the man passed a note to a teller demanding money and told her to hurry.

Apparently he knew that he hadn't used enough glue on his fake mustache because, according to police, it started to fall off when she didn't hand over the money fast enough.

By then another employee approached the pair which prompted the would-be thief to take off without any loot.

In addition to the fake mustache, the suspect wore a dreadlocks wig, beanie cap and large sunglasses. If you recognize him despite his disguise, call the Police Department's detective division at (650) 777-4100.
