BART Delays: Be Prepared For Snafus All Evening
A system-wide problem is reported and expected to last into the night, officials said.

BAY AREA, CA - A service disruption between BART's North Concord/Martinez and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations first reported this morning is expected to cause system-wide delays into the night, according to the agency.
BART officials reported on Twitter at 10:14 a.m. that service had come to a halt between the two Contra Costa County stations because of an equipment problem on the tracks.
As of 2:30 p.m., BART officials said service there remains suspended. BART's transit partners have contributed bus shuttles running between the stations, but passengers should anticipate crowded buses and additional travel time, BART officials said.

BART officials said the line, which runs from Pittsburg/Bay Point to San Francisco International Airport, will continue experiencing delays tonight and riders are encouraged to get to stations early because trains will be shorter and less frequent. Less significant delays are also expected on other lines in the system, according to BART.
BART officials said the disruption was brought on by a "trackside equipment problem that we are working to troubleshoot and correct." Additional details on the cause of the problem were not immediately provided.
