Roads were closed in the area, causing traffic delays, but police said the leak posed no threat to residents.

PG&E crews shut off the flow of gas just before 11 a.m., PG&E spokeswoman Tamar Sarkissian said.

The leak was caused by a construction crew hitting a half-inch plastic gas line while digging in a front yard, Sarkissian said.

The house was being renovated and gas service was already shut off at the meter, Sarkissian said. No PG&E customers lost gas service because of the leak.
