County Celebrates 'International Transgender Day of Visibility'

Special ceremony planned by the San Mateo County board of Supervisors.

The following was submitted for publication on behalf of the International Transgender Day of Visibility:

San Mateo County makes history! On March 31, 2015, the county will celebrate, for the first time, International Transgender Day of Visibility. The Board of Supervisors will honor the transgender community by issuing a proclamation at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisor Chambers, 400 County Center, Redwood City.

Following the proclamation, the public will be inspired and uplifted at a free event co-sponsored by the only county LGBTQ Commission in California and the county’s Pride Initiative.

Time: 2 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (reception with Supervisor Dave Pine from 5 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
