Good News: BART Computer Glitch Fixed Before Evening Commute
Major delays were plaguing the system.

A BART central computer system encountered a glitch that brought major delays to the transit system today, but the problem was fixed and service has recovered ahead of the evening commute, according to a BART spokesman.
A system that deals with routing BART trains malfunctioned at 1:41 p.m., resulting in a cascading effect that slowed trains and brought delays of up to 15 minutes, BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby said.
Among other problems, the digital signage at BART stations apparently began displaying incorrect information.

Computer technicians restarted the systems affected by the glitch at about 2:30 p.m. and the residual delays were ironed out as of 3 p.m., Huckaby said.
