UPDATED: 'Multiple Pedestrians' Hit By Car in San Mateo

Emergency responders are on scene in San Mateo following the incident, police report.

Police say that a total of four pedestrians— three of them teenagers— were struck by a vehicle in San Mateo Wednesday morning, and that all four have now been hospitalized.

Those hit include a woman in her 20s and three teenagers, police said.

The driver, identified as a man in his 50s, has also been taken to the hospital, according to police.

The extent of the injuries is not yet known.

“SMFD and SMPD remain on scene and the road is still closed in both directions,” police reported at 11:35 a.m.

A vehicle has hit multiple pedestrians on a San Mateo street this morning, police said.

Police reported the collision at 11:17 a.m. in the 300 block of West Hillsdale Boulevard.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to treat the injured pedestrians, police said.

“There is no current threat to public safety,” police reported on Nixle. “The road is closed in both directions at this time.”
