Thousands of PG&E Customers Lose Power in Peninsula

PG&E crews are working to repair a power outage that initially impacted more than 4,000 customers in Foster City and San Mateo Tuesday night, a utility spokesman said.
An outage that impacted 4,461 customers was reported around 9:40 p.m., PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said.

The impacted customers are in an area from east of U.S. Highway 101 to Belmont Slough, he said.
As of 10:36 p.m., power was restored to all but 1,250 customers, according to Guidi.

There was no estimated time of when power would be restored to the remaining customers, he said. The cause of the outage is under investigation.
