Two Cats and a Dog Rescued in Belmont Fire
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Belmont fire crews rescued a trio of house pets this week, when an apartment caught fire.
The two cats and dog were the only ones inside an apartment in the 2300 block of Carlmont Dr. when the fire broke out Monday around 10:35 a.m., according to Belmont Police Captain Patrick Halleran.
Officials got word of smoke coming from the unit, and we sent to investigate.

“The fire was extinguished within a few minutes and was confined to one apartment,” Halleran said. ”While checking the apartment, firefighters found two cats and a dog inside. The animals were uninjured and were turned over to San Mateo County Animal Rescue & Control until they could be reunited with their owner, who was at work when the fire occurred.”
Fire crews believe the fire was started accidentally, but are investigating it.
