Two Mountains Spotted in San Mateo County on Sunday

One was spotted in San Carlos, the other in La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve.

A mountain lion was spotted in San Carlos on Sunday evening, the second one spotted in San Mateo County that day, county emergency officials said.

The latest sighting was reported at 7:49 p.m. near the 100 block of Rockridge Road in San Carlos.

Earlier in the day, a separate mountain lion sighting was reported around 8 a.m. near the southern end of the La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve.

Authorities advise people to not approach mountain lions, especially ones that are feeding or with offspring. More information about the animals can be found online at www.keepmewild.org.
