Who Felt It? Magnitude 2.9 Earthquake Shakes Peninsula
The temblor struck at 8:24 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Peninsula area was shaken Wednesday night, when a 2.9 magnitude earthquake came rolling through the region, the USGS reports.
According to the agency, the quake struck at 8:24 p.m. and was centered:
- 0km (0mi) N of Ladera, California
- 3km (2mi) SW of Stanford, California
- 5km (3mi) SSW of Menlo Park, California
- 6km (4mi) SW of Palo Alto, California
- 144km (89mi) SSW of Sacramento, California
So far, hundreds of people have reported feeling the earthquake via the U.S. Geological Survey’s “did you feel it?” feature.
