Domestic Dispute Leads To Counterfeit Money Arrest: SCCSO

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said the suspects had the tools to create counterfeit money set up in the room.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — Two people were arrested in an Aptos hotel room on suspicion of forgery Sunday, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office officials said. Deputies were called to the room to investigate a report of a domestic dispute at the Rio Sands Hotel.

Officials said deputies discovered more than $1,000 of counterfeit cash and a printer set up to print counterfeit currency.

Two people were arrested and booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail. Officials did not release the names of the suspects.
