Man Beaten With Bat And Glass Bottle Tuesday Night In Watsonville

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Police in Watsonville this morning are investigating a Tuesday night incident in which a man was badly beaten in the street by several other men.

Officers responded at 5:23 p.m. to 61 Coolidge Ave. in response to a report of a physical altercation in the street with weapons, police said. The caller reported seeing several men assaulting another man on the street with a baseball bat and a glass bottle, police said.

Officers arrived and located a 20-year-old man bleeding profusely and with head trauma. The victim received treatment at the scene and was transported to a trauma center for further medical care.

Police did not locate any suspects involved in the incident and do not know if the incident was gang-related.
