Weather forecast:

  • Monday: Toasty conditions, with a high of 96 and low of 64 degrees. 🌶 Hot!
  • Tuesday: Sunny; record-breaking heat, temps: high: 92, low: 62.
  • Wednesday: Near-record temperatures, with a high of 90 and low of 62 degrees.

📰 News we're reading

• Solana Beach approves updates to plastics ordinance (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Solana Beach is tightening its single-use plastics rules for restaurants, aligning compostable packaging with EDCO's local digester and banning many bioplastics that don't actually break down. For Carlsbad residents, it's notable that your city is mentioned as already having similar rules, signaling a broader coastal push that could influence future regional standards and expectations for takeout containers and straws.
