• Fall Art & Wine Walk Returns to Forum Carlsbad (localemagazine.com) — Carlsbad residents can enjoy a free Fall Art & Wine Walk at The Forum Carlsbad on Saturday, Sept. 12, featuring local artists, live music, wine tastings, and a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel-cracking demo. The afternoon event also supports Shelter to Soldier, inviting donations to help train rescued dogs as service animals for veterans.
   

• Carlsbad beaches face erosion during high surf Labor Day (cbs8.com) — Carlsbad beachgoers faced closed parking and shrinking sand over Labor Day as powerful swells and high tides severely eroded Tamarack State Beach, leaving mostly rocks instead of usable shoreline. Residents recall similar conditions only decades ago, and while the city and state parks are consulting engineers, major sand replenishment may be years away, meaning limited beach access for some time.

(ballislife.com) — A La Costa Canyon High player from Carlsbad grabbed "top gun" honors at this year's Creme of the County showcase, highlighting the city's growing basketball talent. The San Diego-based event drew standout players from across the region and younger prospects from nearby cities, underscoring a strong pipeline of high school hoops talent that includes Carlsbad-area athletes.
