Residents Displaced As Car Crashes Into Castro Valley Home
The home's gas line was severed, causing a gas-fueled fire.
CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A car crashed into a Castro Valley home this afternoon, severing the natural gas line to the home and starting a fire. No one inside the home was injured.
The crash happened at Redwood Road and Watson Street.
One lane of Redwood Road is closed between Vegas and Lessley avenues while PG&E finishes repairs on the gas line. They should be finished before midnight.

Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said that three adults and one dog have been displaced from the home and are being helped by the American Red Cross.
The driver of the car fled from the scene, according to Knowles.
