CV Relay for Life Shatters All Records
By Sunday morning, 42 teams had raised $103,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The Castro Valley Relay for Life held this past weekend shattered all records.
Last year's Relay raised $53,000 with 32 teams. The goal this year was set at $84,000 and 40 teams.

By Sunday morning 42 teams had raised $103,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Attendance was over 600, including 525 participants. Monies raised for Relay For Life comes back to our community to support programs such as "Road to Recovery," which provides rides to patients who have no other way to get to their cancer treatment, and "Look Good...Feel Better," which provides help with appearance-related side effects from treatment.

Though the actual event is on the same weekend every year in July, planning and fundraising is year-long. Next year's committee is forming; planning and team recruitment will begin in September.
