School Board Agenda: New Budget, CV Adult School Awards

The school board is scheduled to approve a preliminary budget and extend the superintendent's contract.

The school board will vote Thursday night on whether to extend the contract of Superintendent Jim Negri for an additional year through June 30, 2013.

  • $4.4 million: Approve a that includes a $4.4 million windfall that will help offset decreases in regular state funding.  The windfall arrived last school year but was held for the coming school year. 
  • Seismic review: Ratify an agreement to pay $85 per hour for a minimum of two hours to Curt Norton for reviewing seismic upgrades scheduled for  this summer at Vannoy, Marshall and Proctor schools.
  • School presentation: Honor Castro Valley Adult and Career Education staff and volunteers after a presentation to begin at 7 p.m. Later, the board will review a list of classes for adult and career education.
  • Foundation awards: Honor Friend of Education award recipients after hearing a report about Castro Valley Educational Foundation programs, events and grants.
