CVSan Named Best Small Sewer System in California

The California Water Environment Association's award is the second time CVSan has been recognized at the state level.

Earlier this month, the Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) was honored to receive the California Water Environment Association (CWEA)’s 2018 Collection System of the Year Award for the State of California’s Small Collection System Category. CVSan was nominated for this award after winning the San Francisco Bay section award in January. This is the second time CVSan has been recognized by CWEA at the state level since 2002.

CVSan received this award after being evaluated in several categories including its employee training programs, the quality of its sewer system, and its safety standards. There have been zero sewer overflows within CVSan’s boundaries in over a year and no lost time due to workplace accidents in 13 years.

“This is a great honor for CVSan and Castro Valley and I am extremely proud of the team of dedicated employees who work hard for this community every day”, commented Roland Williams, General Manager.
