New Dog Blog for Castro Valley

Hi, all you awesome dog lovers!

I wanted to introduce myself and my blog to you. I am very excited about bringing you information for and about dogs in your area.  We are planning to bring you reviews of local businesses, places, and services that are out there for you and your four-legged friend.  I also will provide you with different training tips and nutritional information, as well as updates on what is happening in the dog community.

I am an animal behaviorist and own Little Spot Runs.  Little Spot Runs is very passionate about the care and health of all dogs; however, we specialize in the care and training of small dogs. I subscribe to training methods that are based on the use of love and respect, rather than dominance and control.  No matter what size dog you have, our goal is to provide information you can use.

Want to play in a free scavenger hunt every weekend right here in Castro Valley?  "Like" the CV Scavengers on Facebook, and you'll get the details of the weekly hunt towards the end of every Friday.

How it Started

Castro Valley Scavengers was born out of the love of the hunt. Originating from a temporary game that The Game Alley put on in March 2011. We had so much fun that we wanted to carry it on.

Castro Valley Scavengers holds a weekly scavenger hunt for ALL ages. Clues will be posted to the facebook page every Friday. If your mind and body prevail and you are the first person to find the prize then you are the new Clue Master responsible for hiding and posting the clue(s) for the next weeks hunt!

Announcing the CV Patch Fantasy Football League

Are you ready for some football?

How about Fantasy Football?  I know I am.

A bit of history: Fantasy Football was invented in 1978 by some of the minority share owners of the Oakland Raiders (not Al Davis) at the King's X Bar on Piedmont Ave in Oakland.  In 1979, I got a copy of the original rules from a co-worker and I've been running a Fantasy Football League ever since.

The original rules are completely different from the modern online rules.  That's enough of history for now.

I've created a private Fantasy Football league for all readers of the Castro Valley Patch.  There is a maximum of 12 teams, so join early if you'd like to play.  It's going to be a free, just for fun league.

The Patch is going to arrange for "Cool Prizes" for the top teams and Patch swag for all players.  Details to come...

The Castro Valley Patch Football League will consist of 12 teams, divided into three divisions of four teams each. The divisions will be called: East, Central, and West.
