March 28th breakfast fundraiser will benefit four local organizations that help to shelter and train animals
The girls of Girl Scout Troop 31052 from Castro Valley invite you to help raise money for four local organizations that help to shelter and train animals. As the first step of their Bronze Service Project, the girls are hosting a pancake fundraiser breakfast on Saturday, March 28th from 8-10 a.m. at Applebee’s in Hayward at 24041 Southland Drive.
Each girl researched an organization, presented its mission and the troop chose these four: Dusty Paws, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Operation Freedom Paws and Hayward’s Sulphur Creek Nature Center. Vannoy student Brooke brought information about Sulphur Creek to the troop.
“I did a camp there and really liked it because they have a ton of animals,“ Brooke shared. “I really like animals. And lastly I’ve been going there for so long that I feel like it’s important to help them.”

Another Vannoy student, Kotomi, presented information about Guide Dogs for the Blind.
“Firstly, I wanted to help the Guide Dogs organization because I have a sister who is blind,” said Kotomi. “Secondly, I really like dogs because they’re adorable! Lastly, the more we raise for Guide Dogs, the more dogs will be trained and therefore more people who are blind will benefit from their services.”
