Measure B Pays for Bicycle-Friendly Traffic Signal, New Sidewalks and Lighting

Reduced traffic congestion will lower emissions from idling vehicles. Other improvements: new sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and pedestrian signal equipment.

For the past week, motorists have enjoyed the benefits of the new traffic signal at the intersection of Crow Canyon Road and Norris Canyon Road.

Last Wednesday, July 6, District 4 Supervisor Nate Miley and Public Works Director Daniel Woldesenbet activated the new traffic signal after several months of construction. George Granger, AT&T, was instrumental in facilitating the completion of this project.

This project will improve intersection safety by ensuring the safe and orderly movement of traffic at the intersection.

By reducing traffic congestion at the intersection, emissions from idling vehicles will also be reduced.

Other improvements include new sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, and pedestrian signal equipment which enhance pedestrian safety and access at the intersection.

New bike lanes and bicycle detection at the intersection will improve safety and access for bicyclists through the intersection.

The installation of LED street lights at the intersection also add to intersection safety.

This $496,000 project was funded by Measure B Funds and the Highway User Tax Account.
