
Winter weather is expected to hit the greater Bay Area today as strong winds blow through the region this afternoon, leading to rain later tonight, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 2 p.m. through midnight. Winds are projected to reach 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph.
As a storm moves across the region, heavier rain will hit at around 5 p.m.

Temperatures will drop to about 45 degrees overnight, with a slight chance of thunderstorms.
Conditions will warm up to the 60s Monday, though there will be a 20 to 30 percent chance of scattered showers.
