Cypress Man and Basketball Coach Arrested for Allegedly Raping Player
Timothy Lucas, who has taught at schools throughout the South Bay, is accused of raping a girl in Hermosa Beach.

Timothy Lucas, a girls’ basketball coach who has worked for several area schools, has been arrested for the alleged rape of a young girl.
Lucas has taught at Mira Costa High, Redondo Beach Union High, Torrance West High, Manhattan Beach Middle School, and Bishop Montgomery High. He was arrested today at Manhattan Beach Middle School by Hermosa Beach Police Department Detectives. He was booked at the HBPD Jail and is being held on $200,000 bail.
The alleged forcible rape was said to have occurred at a residence in Hermosa Beach approximately 18 months ago, according to the Hermosa Beach Police Department. Details of the alleged rape are being withheld due to the victim being a juvenile.
