A wind advisory is in effect for the higher elevations of the North and East Bays, especially Napa and Contra Costa counties, until 10 a.m. today, National Weather Service officials said.
The advisory for the North Bay mountains, East Bay hills and the Diablo Range means north to northeast winds of 15 to 30 mph will continue this morning before subsiding this afternoon.
Also, winds could gust to 50 mph. Forecasters are warning motorists to be cautious driving and warning others of tree damage and power outages.
