Pedestrian Struck By Car Saturday Evening In Concord
The man is expected to survive, police said.

A pedestrian suffered moderate injuries when he was struck by a car Saturday evening in Concord, a police sergeant said.
Police officers responded to a report of a vehicle and pedestrian collision at the intersection of Kirker Pass Road and Olive Drive at 7:51 p.m., Sgt. Greg Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said the man was walking outside of a crosswalk when a compact car struck him.

There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved on the driver’s part and Rodriguez said the woman was driving under the posted speed limit.
“It’s a very busy road and the pedestrians that are getting hit are getting hit outside of the crosswalks,” Rodriguez said. “Pedestrians need to cross at the crosswalk.”

He said it’s unlikely that criminal charges will be filed against the driver. The pedestrian was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and Rodriguez said he is expected to survive.
