1. 4 Day Laborers Disappear In Unexplained Detentions In East Bay, ICE Suspected: Report (patch.com) — Witnesses say unmarked vehicles with people wearing ERO patches detained at least four day laborers at the Concord Home Depot, leaving advocates unsure who was taken or where they are. Local immigrant rights groups quickly organized a protest, pressing Home Depot and Concord officials to oppose immigration raids and do more to protect vulnerable workers in the city.
   

2. Navy Approval Advances Concord Naval Station Redevelopment (patch.com) — Redevelopment of the former Concord Naval Weapons Station just cleared a major hurdle, with the U.S. Navy approving its financial agreement with the city. That green light lets Concord and master developer Brookfield start crafting detailed plans for thousands of homes, parks, a first responder training center, and community facilities that will reshape the city over the next 30 years.
   

3. One of the coolest concert tours of 2026 is just about to hit the Bay Area (eastbaytimes.com) — Concord music fans can catch the It's Iconic Tour at Concord Pavilion on Oct. 11, bringing TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, and En Vogue together for a big R&B and hip-hop night. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., with tickets from $52, and organizers are hopeful TLC's T-Boz will be healthy enough to perform after missing earlier dates.
   

4. Fatal Hwy 4 crash in Concord involving 47-year-old Brentwood motorcyclist under investigation (contracostaherald.com) — A 47-year-old Brentwood motorcyclist died Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on westbound Highway 4 in Concord near Port Chicago Highway. CHP investigators say a Volkswagen Jetta struck the motorcycle, leading to a secondary impact with a Toyota Tundra, and they're asking anyone who saw the crash or its lead-up to contact their Contra Costa office.
