1. 4 Day Laborers Disappear In Unexplained Detentions In East Bay, ICE Suspected: Report (patch.com) — Witnesses say people wearing "ERO" patches in unmarked vehicles detained at least four day laborers at the Concord Home Depot, sparking confusion over which agency was involved. Local immigrant advocates protested outside the store, demanding Home Depot denounce immigration raids and urging Concord officials to strengthen protections for immigrant residents.
   

2. U.S. Navy approves financial agreement for Base Reuse Project at former Concord Naval Weapons Station (contracostaherald.com) — Concord has secured Navy approval of a key financial agreement to buy and redevelop 2,422 acres at the former Concord Naval Weapons Station, moving the massive reuse project into its next phase. The $44.6 million deal lets master developer Brookfield proceed toward a detailed Specific Plan, with public engagement expected to ramp up in early 2027.
   

3. Concord Police Report: Gun, Drug, Assault And Burglary Arrests Highlight Busy Week (claycord.com) — Concord police reported a busy week from September 16–22, including a major arrest involving identity theft, stolen property, ammunition, a firearm, and drugs. Officers also handled assaults, DUIs, drug sales, and at least 10 burglaries or shoplifting cases at locations like Monument Boulevard storage units, a Ricardo Drive home, Sun Valley Mall, and several major streets.
   

4. Cheryl 'Salt' James Releases Debut Solo Album SALTY N LIT (broadwayworld.com) — Hip-hop legend Cheryl "Salt" James has released her first solo album, and she'll be bringing the IT'S ICONIC Tour with Salt-N-Pepa, TLC, and En Vogue to Concord's Toyota Pavilion on October 11. Local fans can expect a faith-driven new set from Salt alongside classic hits as this nationwide tour wraps up right here in town.
