Napa County 'Redwood Fire' Halted

BREAKING: The brush fire in the 2300 block of Partrick Road broke out Wednesday afternoon.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A brush fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in Napa County but crews were able to stop its spread, a fire official said. The so-called Redwood Fire was first reported at around 4:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Partrick Road and quickly grew, the California Highway Patrol reported. However, firefighters with Cal Fire/Napa County Fire Department were able to hold the blaze to 10-12 acres, Napa County fire Capt. Chris Auveilleux told Patch.

Soon after the vegetation fire broke out, Cal Fire and Napa County responded by air and by ground, Auveilleux said, noting that no homes were threatened or evacuated Wednesday.

As of 6:15 p.m., the forward progress of the fire had been stopped but crews were expected to remain on scene for at least a few hours, the captain said.
