Danville Church, Schools Collect Gift Cards For Fire Victims
The donations will be given to those affected by the deadly Camp Fire in Butte County.

DANVILLE, CA — The Community Presbyterian Church, Community Presbyterian Preschool and San Ramon Valley Christian Academy in Danville will be collecting gift cards to help fire victims. This weekend, residents are invited to donate $25 and $50 gift cards from Target, Amazon, Visa, Mastercard or AMEX to be given to those in need in Butte County.
“Many people have been asking us how they can help with the fires,” Tyler Scott, CPC Lead Pastor said. “Based on our research, what they need in Chico are gift cards for the fire victims, donations to disaster relief and volunteer support.”

Gift cards can be dropped off during CPC’s weekend services on Saturday at 5 p.m. or Sunday at 9 a.m. or 10:45 a.m. or Monday through Wednesday next week at their office. Gift cards will be hand delivered next week to a local church partner in Chico and given to Paradise fire victims.
In addition to the gift card drive, CPC is donating $15,000 up to Butte County and $10,000 to Malibu for fire relief efforts. Over the last year, the church has donated $60,000 in fire disaster relief in California alone. If you would like to donate to CPC’s disaster relief fund, you can go to choose Give Now, and under “choose designation” select Disaster Relief.

“There are so many first responders on the front lines looking out for those in need, including one of our school dads, Aaron Latta with Cal Fire,” Jamie Westgate, Principal of SRVCA said. “Dozens of firefighters have already lost their homes in the fires and Aaron knows several of them.”
If you’d like to get involved on the ground, there are opportunities for that as well.
“Both Samaritan’s Purse and Crisis Response International are seeking volunteers to provide support in the field,” Director of Missions Deana Dickerson, who leads all relief efforts at CPC and its schools, said.
CPC Danville is located at 222 West El Pintado.
