• Danville Planning Commission, Parks & Recreation & More Seeking Members (patch.com) — Danville residents have a chance to directly shape local decisions, with multiple town commissions and committees now seeking applicants for terms beginning January 1, 2027. Openings include the Design Review Board, Heritage Resource Commission, Planning Commission, and a seat with the Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District, with applications due by 5 p.m. on November 4.
   

• Men killed in two East Bay freeway collisions are identified (mercurynews.com) — A 39-year-old Danville resident, Bradley Marshall, has been identified as the driver killed Friday when his pickup hit the rear of a tractor-trailer on westbound I-80 at Ashby Avenue in Berkeley. Authorities also named a Redwood City motorcyclist who died in a separate Hayward crash, with both incidents still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
   

• SRVFPD fire reduction projects on Mount Diablo get $2M from state (danvillesanramon.com) — Danville neighborhoods are part of a $2 million state-funded push to reduce wildfire risk in and around Mount Diablo State Park. The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District will use the money for fuel breaks and defensible space projects to better protect communities like Danville, Alamo, and San Ramon before the next fire season.
