East Bay Dress Day In Alamo Will Give Girls In Need Prom Dresses
Those interested in finding a dress are asked to make an appointment in advance.
ALAMO, CA — Prom night is supposed to be a memorable time for high school students but for many underprivileged girls, finding a dress, shoes and accessories with limited financial resources can be a challenge. A nonprofit organization in the East Bay is working to make sure every young woman feels special on prom night.
This weekend, the East Bay Dress Day will host a pop-up dress event in Alamo to help about 60 underprivileged teens find their perfect prom dress. Hundreds of gowns have been collected by local businesses including Brides on Hartz in Danville, the Lash Lounge in Alamo and the Hyatt House in Pleasanton. The dress events will held on Saturday and Sunday and will be located at 190F Alamo Plaza in Alamo.
Volunteers help staff the popular pop-up shops. Those interested in finding a dress are asked to make an appointment in advance. Email eastbaydressday@gmail.com with questions.
