How the Drought Impacts Danville 4th of July Parade

Chalk and tape to stake out your space--nope, not this year.

Do you have a favorite place to watch the Danville 4th of July Parade every year, staking out your place with chalk or tape? The Town of Danville is asking you to leave them at home this year, and you can blame the drought. Because of restrictions, merchants will not be able to powerwash sidewalks, leaving unsightly tape resident and chalk for months.

So what can you do? Chairs may be placed on the sidewalks on Friday, July 3, 2015 after 6:00 p.m. The chairs may not block handicap accessible ramps on the street corners.

The Annual Kiwanis July 4 Parade kicks off at 9:00 a.m.
