• 16 Danville Students Named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists (patch.com) — Danville families can celebrate as 16 local high school students have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists, placing them among the top one percent of seniors nationwide. Students from Athenian School, Monte Vista High, and San Ramon Valley High are now in the running for prestigious scholarships that can support their college plans and may attract additional offers from universities and employers.
   

• 'A true cultural exchange': Irish cast bringing the drama to 2026 Eugene O'Neill Festival (pleasantonweekly.com) — Danville residents can catch the Eugene O'Neill Festival's unique cultural exchange when the Irish play "Teddy" opens Sunday, followed by "Ah Wilderness!" at Tao House and a Sept. 26 performance at the Village Theatre downtown. The festival highlights O'Neill's legacy, brings the original Irish cast to the Tri-Valley, and sends a Danville production to Ireland next month.
