Target would not provide the date that the employee tested positive, the date that the employee last worked and the date that the store was sanitized.
To protect workers and customers, Target said it is following a CDC recommendation to regularly clean stores. Workers are stationed at all store entrances to ensure baskets and carts are clean, checklanes are rotated after every transaction so they can be deep-cleaned, and clear partitions have been added to checklanes and service counters throughout the store, Target said.
Workers are educated on the use of and given masks and gloves, and given additional hours to compensate for more thorough cleaning routines.
Guests are reminded to maintain six feet of social distancing through signs, guidance from employees and the store intercom.
Other Tri-Valley organizations have also announced positive coronavirus tests.
In Pleasanton, a Castlewood Country Club member tested positive, a Bay Club child care employee tested positive and Sunrise Senior Living was hospitalized after testing positive for the virus. No other residents were experiencing symptoms as of a week ago.
