• Kings County officials to ship millions through Davis for affordable housing repairs (abridged.org) — Three long-standing affordable housing complexes in Davis—Twin Pines Apartments, Tremont Green and Moore Village—are set to share up to $15 million in repair funding. The Davis City Council voted to join the California Public Finance Authority so tax-exempt bonds can finance upgrades like HVAC, plumbing, roofing and interiors, all without any direct city money or loan guarantees.

• UC Davis among universities investigated for alleged visa fraud by Trump administration (kcra.com) — UC Davis is one of nine major universities the Trump administration is investigating for allegedly abusing the J-1 visa program, which could affect international students and researchers on campus in Davis. Officials claim the schools overuse J-1 visas on federally funded grants, potentially undercutting American workers, and UC Davis has not yet publicly responded to the new scrutiny.
