400th Game Win On Horizon For SCC Falcons, Women's Softball

The 10th BVC Title is in the making! The season opener is Thursday.

Solano Community College (SCC) Women’s Softball Head Coach Terri Pearson-Bloom is quickly approaching her 400th win as a Falcon this 2015 season.

Pearson-Bloom holds an astounding 394 game wins record and looks to hit her 400th this month!

The season opener is on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Solano’s home field.

“I am so proud of the student-athletes I’ve been fortunate to coach during my tenure with Solano College! The players work hard in the classroom and on the field, and our record is indicative of the team’s dedication to success. We play a 40 game schedule this season and I am confident we will get our 400th win,” shared Coach Pearson-Bloom. After winning nine straight conference titles from 2006 to 2014 (the 9th with a perfect 20-0 record), Pearson-Bloom and the Lady Falcons are in pursuit of their 10th consecutive Bay Valley Conference (BVC) championship title.

Additionally, SCC’s Softball program continues to be nationally ranked in the top 25 in overall team Grade Point Average (GPA). Numerous players have earned NFCA Academic All-American honors, the most prestigious academic award in college softball.

Combining academic success with championship play has led to many Solano Softball graduates signing to 4-year colleges via softball scholarships.

Former Falcons have played at Division I, II and NAIA colleges throughout the United States including; Arizona State, California State University Fullerton, California State University Sacramento, California State University East Bay, Sonoma State, Jacksonville State, Lynn University, Oregon Tech, Lee University, Oklahoma Baptist, and Eastern New Mexico University to name a few.

About Solano Community College:

The College has served as the preeminent educational institution in Solano County since 1945 when it was founded as Vallejo Junior College. In the early 1970s, the College moved to its present Fairfield site, and is presently serving over 8,000 students throughout the academic year.
