Brother of Fairfield Shooting Victim Arrested For Multiple Drugs, Firearm

A man was shot in Fairfield late Thursday afternoon and his brother, a convicted felon, was arrested after a search warrant turned up suspected narcotics and a firearm, police said Friday.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on Villa Court shortly before 5 p.m., police said.
As officers were en route to the scene, a victim of the shooting arrived to NorthBay Medical Center, according to police. Officers learned the victimβs brother, later identified as 30-year-old Austin Hubbard-Blanson, took him to the hospital, according to police.

The victim, a 32-year-old Fairfield resident, was treated for multiple gunshot wounds that were not considered life-threatening, police said. He was in critical condition as of Friday afternoon, police said.

Detectives at the scene of the shooting were able to identify a home linked to the victim and Hubbard-Blanson, police said.
Police obtained and served a search warrant at the home where they found a large amount of suspected MDMA, cocaine hydrochloride, marijuana, items associated with the sales of controlled substances and a 12-gauge shotgun, according to police.
Hubbard-Blanson was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, maintaining a drug house, possession of controlled substances while armed and felon in possession of a firearm, police said. He has previous contacts with police for battery, obstructing law enforcement, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of controlled substances, disturbing the peace and possession of controlled substances for sale, according to police.
Hubbard-Blanson was booked into Solano County Jail where he is being held on $100,000 bail, according to jail records.
