An American Icon!

All my life, I have been buying and selling, antiques and collectibles for a quick profit. well, not this time! For thirteen years now I have been researching this very old, unique stuffed bear of mine to discover him to be the very first style teddy bear made by Morris and Rose Michtom of Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1903. He was made in honor of then President Theodore Roosevelt.! The Michtoms hand made these bears by night and sold them in their novelty shop by day. As the demand grew for their bears. The Michtoms had to do away with original details to begin mass producing their product!
